Annotating Somatic mutations for Cancer samples

Just learnt that while using SnpEff for annotating a VCF file that has somatic mutations (Matched Tumor vs Normal pairs), there is a special -cancer mode that accurately handles representation of somatic mutations

My MacBook Pro hardware configuration

If you run TopHat (rna-seq aligner) or any other program that can run on a multi-core system, it is useful to know the number of cores in the system. My MacBook pro revealed to me that it is a single processor but 2 core, which can be specified on the TopHat command line:
